Thought of the Day - December 17th

I will prepare and some day my chance will come.

- Abraham Lincoln

Those of us stuck in a fast and easy mindset struggle with the idea that we may have to delay gratification. However, if we can push through that must have it now mentality, and prepare for our future, we will prevail. Whether it be saving, going to school or not jumping into a relationship just to avoid being alone; we might be better off if we can just wait.

Waiting ... patience.. is not an overall strength more most Americans. We have become accustomed to instant news, instant cash from a machine or credit card, instant transportation and much more.. heck even our food can be delivered in less then five minutes to our hands in many cases. Our children our becomeing programmed to expect this. We see this in the current generation just beginnning to work. They are struggling in the work world with expectations that don't meet old school boss ethics.

If you can make yourself wait 48 hours before doing anything other then buying necessities, you will be surprised how much you will save as the urge for gratification lessens. (The latest electronic device, computer game or kitchen gadget is not a necessity)

Mr. Lincoln was before our time, but his wisdom still remains relevant.
