One Bite at a Time!

So many of us try diets, new businesses, new relationships and much more with a fervor. We rush in with excitement and motivation. What happens? Often, as we lose momentum we begin to stray from our plans. Regardless of whether you are dieting or working on some other goal, it all revolves around keeping track of your goals.

Make your goals SMART goals first and foremost.

S- Be specific, the broader your goal, the more difficult it will be to figure out if you are making progress.

M- Measurable. Have small bite sized steps for each week and day. Six things I will achieve today towards my weekly goal of....

A- Achievable - Do you have the training or supplies to achieve what you are seeking, if not, that needs to be an early goal.

R- Realistic - If you put that you want to breathe water and it is against the scientific possibilities.. how can you achieve that? However, don't shoot to low either. Remember the saying.. if I shoot for the moon and miss, at least I land amongst the stars.

T- It needs time measurement for each step. I will achieve.. . by... If you don't make it, don't give up. Analyse where you are, what progress you are making and reset your timeline. It may be that you didn't give yourself enough of the "R". In other words, it is an achievable goal but you gave it an aggressive time frame.

Most importantly.. Don't Quit!

With dieting, the biggest problem I see is people cheat and don't know it. There are some great websites out there for keeping track of what you eat.

http://www.weightwatchers.com/ offers tracking with their program.
http://www.naturalmood.isagenix.com/ for their cleansing program offers tracking measurements.
A free one available for many is http://www.my-calorie-counter.com/. It does calorie count of every bite you put in your mouth. A must for those who can't figure out why their diet isn't working. This is do to the fact that calorie counts on products can be misleading. Yes that cracker only has 70 calories.. .. but that is per serving and there is 30 servings in the bag. The bigger question is.. how many servings of 70 did you just eat?

Regardless of whether your goal is a business, a home, a dollar amount or a pound on a scale.... the only way to reach each of these goals is to monitor your daily steps...
